About Us

John and Jo May 2011

John and Joanna Stumbo will soon celebrate their 29th anniversary. They have three grown children living from Minneapolis to Bakersfield. John has spent most of his adult life as pastor of Alliance churches of all sizes, from Washington to Pennsylvania. His hobbies include long distance running, fishing, tennis, biking and hiking.

A sudden life-threatening illness changed the course of John's life in 2008. His recovery since has at times been agonizing and other times miraculous. In his recovery John has completed his doctorate from George Fox Evangelical Seminary in Oregon and, with Joanna, is publishing his first book. They've recently moved to Wisconsin to be near family.

PeterPeter Rhee brings over 25 years of live performing, 20 years studio recording, 16 years of leading worship and 15 years of music teaching experience into his role as the musical director at Cornerstone. He’s an in demand musician in Los Angeles, not only for studio and stage but playing at just about every local church.

“I love using the talents that God gave me to raise up musicians for our worship team and even our youth band and I’m proud to call Cornerstone my home church.”
Peter and Keri have been married for five years and call the South Bay their home.

KevinKevin Lines is the associate pastor here at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. Kevin holds two undergraduate degrees - one from Calvary Chapel Bible College and one from Global University. He received his MA degree in philosophy from Loyola Marymount University of Los Angeles and is currently completing his doctorate degree from Claremont Graduate University. He comes to CSCF with experience both as a youth pastor (3 years) and as a missionary (2 years). Kevin came to know Lord at the age of 20 when God pulled him, too, out a life of addiction and emptiness. “God spoke into my life and showed me that no amount of material or worldly success would satisfy the emptiness and longing for peace and acceptance in my heart.”

My wife of 4 years, Grace, joins me in ministry. She works as registered lead nurse in the nursery and mother/baby unit at local hospital. I am so thankful that God has brought her into my life. I admire her love, compassion, patience, courage, and strength. Desiring to be a godly husband is a driving force in the way I live my life. We both feel like God has called us to Cornerstone and are excited to be part of the Fellowship and leadership team.

Finding a community of faith is an important and sometimes difficult task. We want to help you find the place where you fit, where you grow and where you can serve. We want to be that place for those who choose to join us.
We're in this together - striving to learn what God's word has to say to us today and living to be examples of Jesus Christ to the community around us.
